Spring is upon us and its time to start
getting your gear ready to go. To make it easier gather all your
fishing gear and put it in one location. Doing these things now will
ensure your ready to hit the water when the fish start biting.
1. Clean, organize and restock your tackle box
- Clean out tackle box and wipe down trays
- Organize your baits in a system that works for you
- Check and discard baits that are broken
- Cut any knots off baits
- Replace or sharpen damaged hooks
- Make a list of any tackle you need
2. Clean and repair rods and reels
- Wipe down reels and lubricate
- Replace damaged line
- Check rod for damaged rings (pull a piece of pantyhose through the rings feeling for snags)
3. Check your tools
- Lubricate fishing pliers
- Sharpen Knives
- Inspect landing nets for holes
- Replace batteries in flashlights
- Inspect bait buckets for cracks and holes
- Check and stock first aid kit
